Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Jibantala Rokeya Mahavidyalaya

Purpose and Role

Adopting a clear and focused approach towards quality sustenance measures for institutionalization and internalization of quality culture, the IQAC of Jibantala Rokeya Mahavidyalaya serves as an indispensable nodal agency for the development and application of quality benchmarks. As mandated by the UGC, this body seeks to involve internal and external stakeholders in cross-sectional participation in the institution's quality enhancement activities through conscious, consistent, and catalytic action plans.

The IQAC aims to foster a sense of belongingness among all stakeholders towards the common purpose of creating a participative, inclusive, and equitable resource infrastructure. Immediate goals include updating pedagogic methods to a more ICT-enabled and learner-centric framework, steering the implementation of e-governance, and ensuring transparency in documentation and communication.

Framework and Strategies

In performing its roles, the IQAC functions as the moral conscience of the college, guiding its path towards progress in an inclusive manner. The strategies evolved by IQAC include:

  1. Ensuring Timely, Efficient, and Progressive Performance :
    • Academic, administrative, and financial tasks must be performed in a timely, efficient, and progressive manner.
  2. Quality Academic and Research Programs:
    • Ensuring the relevance and quality of academic and research programs.
  3. Equitable Access and Affordability:
    • Providing equitable access to and affordability of academic programs for various sections of society.
  4. Optimization and Integration of Modern Teaching Methods :
    • Implementing modern methods of teaching and learning to optimize education quality.
  5. Credibility of Assessment and Evaluation Processes :
    • Ensuring the credibility of assessment and evaluation processes.
  6. Adequacy, Maintenance, and Allocation of Support Structures and Services :
    • Ensuring the adequacy, maintenance, and proper allocation of support structures and services.
  7. Sharing Research Findings and Networking:
    • Facilitating the sharing of research findings and networking with other institutions in India and abroad.

Functions

The IQAC is expected to perform several functions, including:

  1. Development and Application of Quality Benchmarks :
    • Establishing quality benchmarks for various academic and administrative activities.
  2. Creating a Learner-Centric Environment:
    • Facilitating a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty development.
  3. Feedback Collection and Analysis:
    • Collecting and analyzing feedback from all stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes.
  4. Dissemination of Information:
    • Disseminating information on various quality parameters to all stakeholders.
  5. Organization of Workshops and Seminars:
    • Organizing inter and intra-institutional workshops and seminars on quality-related themes and promoting quality circles.
  6. Documentation of Quality Improvement Activities:
    • Documenting various programs and activities leading to quality improvement.
  7. Coordinating Quality-Related Activities:
    • Acting as a nodal agency for coordinating quality-related activities, including the adoption and dissemination of best practices.
  8. Maintaining Institutional Database:
    • Developing and maintaining an institutional database through MIS to enhance institutional quality.
  9. Conducting Audits:
    • Periodically conducting Academic and Administrative Audits and following up on the findings.
  10. Preparation and Submission of Reports:
    • Preparing and submitting the Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA) as per NAAC guidelines and parameters.
