About STUDENT WELFARE

Students are the main component of an academic institution. Student welfare should be the prime concern for any educational instution .So, student welfare programs are basic services directed towards providing and promoting student learning and their well-being.Though the students are different individuals coming from different family structure and environment, the main objective of the welfare is to provide them with the type of support they need. It may be financial, academic, moral, or emotional. Welfare support may be divided into two categories: academic and non-academic support. The academic welfare of students is primarily the responsibility of tutors and the senior faculty members. The non-academic welfare of students is primarily the responsibility of the Head of the Institution. At the same time, students should be counselled to be proactive in managing their own welfare and in seeking support as and when appropriate. Essential steps for student welfare are as follows: Organizing curricular, extracurricular, personality development and value inculcation activities. Providing career counselling, training for competitive examinations, executing value addition and skills programmes to enhance their employability skills will help their betterment of life.
