HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE

Jibantala Rokeya Mahavidyalaya, established in 2001,is a college located in the south 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, India.The college is named after Begum Rokeya Sakhaeat Hossain, a pioneering figure in Bengali literature and an advocate for women’s rights and education.The institution was founded with the mission of providing higher education to students in the region, particularly those from rural and underprivileged backgrounds. Jibantala Rokeya Mahavidyalaya is affiliated with the university of Calcutta. This affiliation ensures that the college follows the academic standards and guidelines set by the university.The college offers undergraduate courses in various disciplines within the Arts streams. The college has gradually expanded its academic offerings over the years to include subjects like Bengali, English, History, Political Science, Philosophy and Geography.
